Hi everyone,

 

On 9th and 10th February we took a group of businesses over to Seating Matters in Limavady, Northern Ireland.

 

Why?

 

Because they offer a behind the scenes peak at how they run a lean factory.

 

Lean can often be over complicated – so it was great to see how it was put into practice on a day to day basis (not just in theory).

 

In fact, that was one of the goals of the attendees – to see lean in action vs theory. Other goals for the trip included:

 

How does lean apply to customer service?

How does applying lean result in more profit?

How does lean help you to build the culture you want?

How does lean help you to bring about change in the business?

How does lean help you to hold people accountable?

 

I have to admit – I was a bit nervous as to whether we could answer all these (quite big!) questions but I’m delighted to say that following the tour everyones questions were answered (and some!).

 

It was a truly inspirational trip and we’re going to be sharing some more learnings of our trip over the coming weeks.
