There were a number of sayings that came out of our lean trip to Seating Matters. Phrases that you heard that rang true or caused the penny to drop. I’ve made a list of all my favourites below:

 

• Dual ownership is no ownership
• Work should be easy
• Improvements beget improvements
• An improvement isn’t an improvement until it is shared
• Slow is smooth. And smooth is fast.
• Make it idiot proof.
• Blame the process, not the person.
• Set the standard
• How you do anything, is how you do everything
• Leave it better than you found it
• There is a place for everything, and everything has its place
• Where you ask the question is where the answer should be
• Drain the river
• Mistake of the week
• Stop and fix
• Fix what bugs you
• And finally….Run the experiment

 

These phrases might not mean anything right now (although I’m sure at least a few stand out / make sense immediately) but over the course of the next few weeks I’m going to run through some examples as to how these show up at Seating Matters (and how we are trying to implement that within not only our businesses but help our clients to implement it too).
